After a comfortable lunch it is just a view minutes drive up a valley to the old and mysterious village of Tenganan. A Bali Aga (Tribal) Village with  some astounishing traditions, dances , music, and strange rituals. This village has been an ethnological sensation, barely untouched by the surrounding Hindu culture.

On our way back we follow the coast line and stop at one of the black sand beaches. A short drive away is the Goa Garba, mostly unknown by tourists. An 11th century hermitage cave , with an ancient spectacular Gate carved in the cliff of a  river valley. You can still feel the mystic of the ancient Hindu kingdoms.

CLASSIC JEEP / WEST BALI

Trying to show you the real beautiful and unspoilt Bali we changed our itinerary from visiting the usual tourist sites like Tanah Lot and Bedugul to a more nature and landscape tour.

You will be picked up from your place in an original VW 181 Safari Jeep, and of you go towards West Bali. Our first visit is unique 300 years old baroque style garden temple. It is maybe the most beautiful temple of the island. Iconic huge temple gates and lines of high build  ancestor shrines are set in a spacious garden. You can make incredible photos in the soft morning light.

Later you drive to the rainforest of Mount Batukaru. The temple at the end of the mountain road is very mysterious and very holy to the Balinese. There are no souvenir stores nor are there any tourists. You are shown around the temple, everything being explained by your guide followed by a short walk at the edge of the rainforest. Afterwards a ten minute drive brings you to spectacular rice terraces where we will take you on a 45 minute trek.

The tour continues along the rice terraces in the Jatiluwih World Heritage area. On the way you stop to see cocoa trees, coffee plants and vanilla. This is a highlight of the tour and you can stop wherever you want to take photos, the road being very quiet and the scenery spectacular.

After a buffet lunch in the rice field area we drive into the mountainous and relatively unknown region of Petang to visit a hidden Gem, the beautiful Nungnung Waterfall. You may even take bath in the nature pool formed from the fall! If you don’want to walk down the stairs down to the waterfall, we can drive back down South and visit a Balinese family compound and the guide explains how people live, their ceremonies and everyday life. On the way home we have a photostop at another very old temple, Pura Sada in Kapal.
